The Biochemistry degree requires credit for two semesters each of general biology, physics, and calculus, and four semesters of chemistry, including general chemistry and organic chemistry.
These courses are in preparation for the three main courses of the major, which include Genetics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Cell Biology.
Advanced courses include Bioanalytical Chemistry, Physical Biochemistry, and four advanced electives drawn from both the Biology and the Chemistry and Chemical Biology departments.
In addition, students must fulfill the NU Core course distribution, writing, and experiential education requirements, including a capstone course. Specific course requirements and standards for maintaining academic progress are given in the Course Catalog.
